Abstract
A cross-sectional study was conducted to elucidate the relationship between hypertension and serum lipid levels in Koreans. The serum lipid levels were measured in 142 cases of hypertensive patients and 97 cases of normal control group.
@ES The results were as follows :
@EN 1. The mean serum cholesterol level in the hypertensive group was 217.3¡¾63.1mg%, and was 198.3¡¾62.5 mg% in the control group (p<0.05).
2. The mean serum triglyceride level in the hypertensive group was 198.7¡¾34.2mg%, and was 115.5¡¾32.4mg% in the control group (p<0.05).
3. The mean serum low density lipoprotein level in the hypertensive group was 123.3¡¾58.2mg%, and was 104.5¡¾54.8mg% in the control group (p<0.05).
4. The mean serum high density lipoprotein level in the hypertensive group was 42.8¡¾10.8mg%, and was 46.7¡¾13.5 mg% in the control group (p<0.05).
5. It was thought that there must be some obvious correlations between hypertension and serum lipid level.
